Thanks for these great thoughts. While I am perhaps not as dismissive as you of the need for academic education (which, in an ideal world, is important not only for work and making money, but also for being a good citizen and well-rounded human being) I agree for the need for a greater focus on skills. But I am curious: in India, there are education and training centres focused on skill development - the vocational training system and a range of coaching and personality development centres. In your view, is the problem that these places are not esteemed socially (that people regard them as separate to 'mainstream [read: academic] education)? Or have they not yet attained the level of quality that is necessary to really help young people thrive? Or is there simply not enough awareness about them?
